GDM Disrespects LMA
I have just finished reading the entire NY Times article and I am outraged at the comments made by Dennis Mcnally. The statement that LMA does not constitute the kind of community that the Grateful Dead had originally intended is pure and unadulterated hogwash.
I believe that LMA is exactly what Jerry would have envisioned. They provide a non commercial setting for the free trade and distribution of the very music he said belonged to the fans. I am heartened that John Barlow, one of the major holders of copyrights to the music, is speaking out against this latest grab by GDP. I would hope that we would hear some other dissenting voices from the inner circle over the next few days or weeks.
I would like to personally thank Diana, Brewster and the rest of the LMA gang for being instrumental in helping me replenish my collection that had been diminished by various moves, a divorce and general wear and tear over the years, and also for allowing me to have a discover shows, new bands and music that I would have never have been able to find without your wonderful site.
